We should all be striving to eat at least half our weight in grams of protein to help build muscle, and up to our full weight in grams if we want to maintain lean muscle mass as we age.
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m in my mid-to-late 30s now, and as I think about the next decade and all the hormonal changes that might come with it, including perimenopause, the one thing I keep hearing over and over again is that maintaining lean muscle and strength training is imperative for not just staying in shape but also keeping hormones balanced.
